Did they really just play "Lord of the Dance" at the Inauguration? Really? Had I been a McCain supporter, I would have taken this as evidence of my vindication.
As an Obama supporter I merely thought, "He needed a better liturgist on his transition team."
Favorite line from the speech: "For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness."
And just in case you found the inauguration speech a little lackluster, or think you could write a better one yourself, give this Obama Inauguration Speech Generator a try.
Dude, and the preacher who gave the final benediction- how sweet was he? I think I could listen to that man all day.

The "Lord of the Dance" is based on a Quaker hymn, "Simple Gifts" which has been used by many American composers. (Sorry for the music trivia, but it's kind of my thing). I really loved the benediction by Rev. Lowry too! I got a little teary at the end. :-)

I loved Rev Lowry but I felt uncomfortable with Rev Warren. Although his prayer was nice for Christians to pray I'm either for inclusive prayer or none at all at a public event.
