One of the tasks at the new job is to buy snackies for all the employees. The snack list is full of particular brands of chips and cookies, certain species of apples, and notes about who will DIE if they don't get their special snacks. It's a hard life being a scientist, apparently.
Anyhoo, on my shopping adventure (to the place I've gone for the last 4 years to do my own home shopping) I realized that maybe, I might be a food snob. Maybe.
Why? Because I had no idea where the Potato Chip aisle was. Or where to find Oreos. Or soda. And then, I had a bizarre sense of shame and guilt wheeling around a cart with 6 bags or chips, 3 bags of cookies, soda, and no veggies. So I bought baby carrots, for which I also felt guilty. (Baby carrots? what? We can't cut up our own carrots??)
Which isn't to say I don't buy these things occasionally, just never at this grocery store and certainly not all at the same time.
Am I crazy, a bit food snob, or do you also have any foods that you feel guilty buying?

Buying beer, just beer, with the kids is always uncomfortable. Nothing says father-of-the-year like a 30 pack of Coors.

Here's what I bought today....soy milk (plain), veggie burgers, a frozen Thanksgiving turkey, baby carrots and...Oreos. Oh well.
tip on snacks for a small office...I bought a huge jar of pretzel rods at Costco which were very popular and don't carry the guilt that potato chips do.
