Forgive me internet, for I have sinned...
I was late to Mass today (surprise! I went!) because I was more interested in hanging up Christmas lights on my porch than listening to the first reading.
The pink Jesus over there makes me laugh everytime I look at it because it reminds me of a particular "adult toy" that I own. (Wow. That's like 4 sins in one sentence. Watch out people, I'm going for a record!)
I keep hoping Mr. Man will have to work late again tonight so I won't have to counsel drunken lawyers about their poor career choices at his annual office holiday party.
I have absolutely no desire to read the US Bishops' new statements because I know they are probably just going to piss me off.
I have been trash-talking my Pastor's desire to gift-wrap the Altar and bring in Santa to bow to baby Jesus at the Children's Christmas Eve Mass. (But Seriously? I don't think this is a sin so much as a social service...)
Ah. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Maybe now I can get back to work.

Yes, I READ the first reading at our school's Mass yesterday. Hilarious. It helped me get a new appreciation, though, for how it's really about passing the buck. God asks Adam and he points to Eve. God asks Eve and she points to the serpent. Then God curses the serpent. Seems fair. And cowardly of all involved. :)
You and your "adult toys"...
And--take it from me--the new Bishops' statements are disturbing. Some pretty great one-liners in the gay one...like "public self-disclosure is not encouraged." Don't know what to do about that....
